Encore, Encore!

Easter Sunday was well spent.

I went to church with my family, had some lunch, put in a bit of study time BUT the best part of all: The Next One - Sarah Geronimo concert!!!

It was great to be among other Filipinos especially those who are very successful in their careers. It's so inspiring to see an incredibly dynamic young woman perform her ass off and still be so nice to each and every person who came to see her. We all know how some famous people like to exhibit diva-like behavior. But she shook almost everyone's hands and I was in awe of her kindness. To be a superstar of her caliber - I was impressed!!

You all may not know too much about her, but google her name. Her voice is phenomenal! She gave me chills when she sang 'To Love You More' - originally sung by Celine Dion.

The concert was a medley of romantic & dance songs (think Pop, R & B). Her dancers were simply awesome but my favorite part was Billy Crawford. He's the Justin Timberlake of our country. He can dance his ass off!!! His shoe game is crazy too! My favorite part was when he did Ne-Yo's songs including 'I'm so sick'. I was singing and dancing like a madwoman LOL!

Towards the end of it, I went to the stage like everyone else. I thought I took good pictures, but Billy's head was cut off a little he-he.

The last time I've been to a concert was last year. An early birthday gift from my beloved. It was the Alicia Keys concert with Jordin Sparks and Ne-yo - that was also a good one. Aahh...I wonder which one I'll go to next??

Happy Easter Everyone!!!

Last Friday, April 11th was a horrible day for me. There's been so much ongoing BS in my life, but the beautiful flower you see above put a few things in perspective for me. It was just so pretty I was almost forced to capture the moment.

Life isn't so bad. I mean you shouldn't dwell on insignificant matters when there are other great things going on in your life. Thanks to family and friends, I get through life's struggles just fine - I love you all!!!

1 month down, 3 more to go....

A month ago today, I made a vow to myself. I vowed that for four months, I will not buy a single garment, shoes, accessories, etc. No to shopping sprees!! Ooohhhh, it seems like it's been years!!!

If you're wondering why I would do such thing, here are the following reasons:

* Every time I browse at any store or even online, I HAVE to buy something!
* If I see something I really like and it comes in other colors, I'll buy it all
* I'm a sucker for shoes so I buy 'em in bunches
* A gorgeous blouse or shirt must go with the perfect jeans or skirt and I won't stop 'til I find both even if I already have something similar in my closet!
* I try to convince myself, 'Hey, it's a great sale - it's only $10! And then I can't seem to ignore the other "great sales"

If I keep going, it'll probably take several posts LOL! So like a true addict, I've been going through withdrawals. I even slipped last week! I saw a double-strap buckle belt at Ann Taylor that would go great with a few things in my closet. BUT...If I'm going to be serious about this, I would have to completely commit to it. I returned the belt!!

As with all recovering addicts, there are going to be times when I'm gonna slip. My shopaholic ways isn't as serious as other addictions. However if you check out my post entitled 'What's your Addiction?', you will find how it can easily get out of hand. But like the true champ that I am, I'm gonna make it....

Sometimes

Sometimes I feel lost in us
Sometimes I feel lost without us

Sometimes you hurt me without being aware
Sometimes my mind wants to tell you
I need you right here

Sometimes all I need is your love and affection
I can do without your harsh words and rejection

I suppose there are the good days and the not so good days
But when it's good, it's almost like I'm living in a dream
You describe me so eloquently
"Beautifully and articulately breathtaking"
I think you're nothing short of amazing

And often times, I'm convinced I've found my life partner
Though sometimes I'm puzzled at the thought of how we found each other
Then again sometimes there is no answer

Sometimes you just have to go with the flow
Each and every path that life takes you, you don't have to know
There's something intriguing about that
You and Me, that's something I would never take back

Train Ride

The little ones & big kids went on the train ride during Devin's birthday party. Even though some of us could barely fit inside (Evan LOL), it was a lot of fun as we all shared haunting house/forest stories to keep ourselves entertained. There wasn't much scenery to look at except for random people in the woods walking their dog while everyone else stayed on the path. Hhhmmm, weird.....

My mom or as the family refers to her lovingly, Nay, took Devin to church yesterday for Palm Sunday. She dressed him up in this peach & khaki ensemble and he looked so handsome!!
