Sick Lately

Sorry for the lack of posts, but I have been very, very sick! Ugh!

The worse part - sounding like a man or missing out on seeing my boys? Both, but it's all good. Still recuperating and this Zicam is working wonders for me =)

What does your Dream mean?

This is part 1 of the 'What does your Dream mean' post. It's mainly because I have had very peculiar dreams as of late. It has been said before that dreams are one's reality personified. That it means something or maybe nothing at all.

I woke up at 5:00 am this morning and got ready for my day earlier than normal. I dozed off around 7:00 am and woke up in a daze. In my dream, I was in a very tiny & crowded room fighting something. For the record, I'd like to think that I'm a lover and not a fighter. But the fighter is brought out in case of an emergency - LOL!

So, who was I fighting? A barbie doll. I know what you're thinking because I am now thinking the same thing. WHY THE HELL AM I FIGHTING A BARBIE DOLL? And a naked one at that?!?!

I think this boils down to insecurity. We all have our own likes and dislikes about ourselves but we deal with it our own way. I think that it's saying that I'm trying to fight off some insecurities, specifically the superficial & insignificant "issues". Perhaps the "perfect" image everyone strives for. The areas where some people lack like the "perfect smile" or the "perfect hair". For me, it's the "perfect body". Here goes sounding the least bit vulnerable - I like my soft skin but wished I was more toned. The thing about the woman's body that men don't understand is that due to the "monthly friend", we have one GREAT week or week and a half out of the entire month! The other days are spent eating chocolates or fried foods or just lounging around loathing. As much as I'd like to attain the 3 or 4 workout days of the week, it's very likely that it won't happen. And usually it doesn't during the winter time.

I am way more active during the summer and it has a lot to do with the warm weather & the likelihood that the sun will be out during the course of the day.

Have you had any weird dreams that you've made an attempt to explicate??? Are they as weird as mine above???

HAPPY LOVE DAY!!!

I was in a bit of a shock yesterday afternoon upon receipt of quite a special delivery. The exchange between the delivery guy and me was kind of awkward & funny but it went something like this:

EA Delivery Guy: Hi, I'm looking for Mary
Me: Um, there's no Mary here
EA Delivery Guy: Well, it says here it's for a Mary Ban
Me: Oh, yes I'm Marie so it must be for me
EA Delivery Guy (frowned brows): Uh hhmmm

I WAS EXTREMELY SURPRISED AND COULDN'T STOP SMILING! If you can't read the caption on the card it says: Delivery a little early this year unlike my love...Always on time. It has occurred to me that my poetry has rubbed off on him a little...I LOVE YOU BABY!!! HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Bowling Night!

My Love and I went to Bowl America in Arlington, VA last night with some of his co-workers. The food was comparable - it's certainly no Lucky Strike - but I HAD SO MUCH FUN! I haven't bowled since sometime last year so it was kind of exciting to get a few spares and a couple strikes!

2 lanes to our right was this cute little guy - he was maybe 4 - but he was just having a ball with it! In the pic above with me are Nicole and Katie - they're pretty cool, but I beat them both. Twice, Ha! LOL

Too Much yet Too Little

I've done most of my spring cleaning. Along with wiping down books, furniture, etc. - I suppose you can say I was "cleaning out my closet."

Have you ever felt so overwhelmed with your thoughts scattered? When you haven't done your laundry for so long and inches of dust begin to accumulate on everything from your windowpane to picture frames? I can admit that I'm a bit of an OC, but how can one live in all that dirt?

Last weekend, I had too much sleep yet too little time to enjoy the cleanliness of my domain. I also had too much fun basking in the warm weather yet too little time to actually enjoy it outside. I remained in my bed beating the cold/flu symptoms. Aahhh, it's true that all you really need is a whole lotta sleep to recover completely. I'll add honey tangerines and coconut juice to that. I had about 4 tangerines and 2 coco juices and I swear they both killed any attempts of a cold.

Jolly Rancher Shots!!!

Ah, how nice to still be friends with people you have known for several years. This is my second family and love them all!!!

We all went to DnB last night to celebrate Tray's return for the weekend - Jolly Rancher shots were the best part! I had additional drinks and will have more tonight - YAY! LOL

Monday, February 2nd was Groundhog Day. On my way in to work today, I read this article from the Express and basically simplified the significance of the day noted.

Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow which means that winter will continue for six more weeks. Groundhogs are "the world's most famous weather prognosticator. Since 1887, Phil has seen his shadow 97 times and hasn't seen it 15 times and there are no records for the nine other years, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club." If you must ask, Punxsutawney is in Pennsylvania. And if you are scratching your head about the last factual statement, you are not alone.

How long do groundhogs live? According to Wikipedia, Groundhogs usually live from two to three years, but can live up to six years in the wild. In captivity, groundhogs can exceed this limit; by example, the 22-year-old Wiarton Willie may indicate the maximum lifespan.

Fun Filled Weekend

I had one of the best weekends ever!

Super Bowl XLIII - I knew the Pittsburg Steelers were going to win!

I had such a fun time with My Love and his friends at Muse Lounge. It's located on 717 6th St. NW - the old Coyote Ugly and RnR. I remember when it used to be RnR and my friends & I would go every week to see UCB perform. Man, those were fun times indeed. Now, it's a lot more classy and sophisticated - I actually really like the place.

I'm on babysitting mode for the next month - Baby Kai and Devin can be a handful. But I love them both. I just started a new class - I've got two exams coming up so it'll be a very hectic few months....
