Snow Paradise???

If I could describe how I feel in one word right now, I'd say overwhelmed.

Take Buliit for example. I took her out for a walk and she was filled with joy almost instantly. She eventually became overwhelmed with all the snow and called it a night.

Look at my Caddy - it's blanketed with snow. I'd say it also feels overwhelmed.

Finally, my go-to boots. I wear it with everything but looks especially cute with my dresses. If you look at the tip, you will see that my toes must feel overwhelmed as well.

The one that looks otherwise is my hand print. I was trying to think of ways to make my mark since I couldn't take a picture of myself with Buliit tugging at me. I've been trying to take one of me making a snow angel, but I have yet to convince someone to do it with me....oh well thank you snowstorm for the beautiful way you fall on the trees and stick to the branches. But no thanks to the freezing ice - I almost busted my ass getting to work today. Perhaps I shouldn't have been walking and texting simultaneously but it was important!

Sean Alexander the Great

HEY WORLD, HERE'S SEAN ALEXANDER SEVILLA!!! He was born today, January 27th at 3:08 a.m. weighing in at 7.3 lbs. and 20 inches long.

Being that my nephew is an Aquarius, I was a bit reluctant to hold him at first. But I gave in as soon as I saw those chubby cheeks. And knowing that his parents will raise him well, I believe he'll grow up to be a good man. It goes the same for Kai and Devin. Needless to say, I've had a bad experience with Aquarius BOYS! However that is a thing of the past. I'll make certain my nephew knows how to treat a woman...

Happy Birthday Ebony!!!

On Saturday, January 24th, we went to the Ramada Inn in Laurel to celebrate Ebony's birthday. It was supposed to be a surprise but she's had 5 drinks before we even got there. Yes, she was already done LOL.

Here are some pics of Ebony & Lawrence (both in blk.), Courtney and Larry, Seth, Evan, and I just having some fun. More pics to come....

P.S. Gotta get my beauty rest, but there will be more posts tomorrow =)

Well, Mr. President....

At this point, more than ever, I am paying close attention to Mr. Obama's executive orders. The primary reason I voted for him was because I agreed with most of his policies. Specifically, his stance on the Economy, Ethics, and Education.

However, the recent orders has got me scratching my head a little bit. While I agree with the urgency of the economic stimulus plan, I don't understand why he has chosen to close Guantanamo Bay. I've got a couple of questions:

* Where are the terrorists going to be displaced?
* Why would he try to "soften" torture tactics?

I believe it's called torture for a reason. These people aren't prisoners due to a petty theft or DUI. They are there because of their knowledge and first hand experience in terrorist acts. If they were not to divulge key information, then how will it be done? I assume NOT simply by baking them their favorite cupcakes. Or making certain they have that Filet Mignon they've been savoring since before they got there.

Here's more background info from an article by Jake Tapper from ABC News:

The Obama administration filed papers seeking a 120-day continuance in all cases so his administration can review the individual prosecutions and more generally to review the policy for detainees and determine how best to handle the cases.

From Guantanamo, the Washington Post's Peter Finn reports that the motion called for "a continuance of the proceedings" until May 20 so that "the newly inaugurated president and his administration [can] review the military commissions process, generally, and the cases currently pending before military commissions, specifically."

He goes on to explain that it will take about a year to implement the order noted. But to me this just seems like a bad idea. I'd especially like to know how he plans to keep our country safe, but with the possibility of terrorists being repatriated WE all have something to be alarmed about.....

LOVE means...

Some say LOVE is "the tingling sensation"
You feel when you've found
That individual with whom you have a special connection

Some say LOVE is saying he's "the one"
It's quite undeniable what he has done

Some say LOVE is being the "sunshine in my rain"
Yet it's odd to expect that with love comes pain

Some say LOVE is "a sacrifice you make"
If it's real, it's hard to fake
Suppose one says this is all it takes
Then, I am certain it will cause a debate

To me LOVE is waking up early morning
To ensure his breakfast is waiting

To let him know I love him
Usually 3,6,8 times throughout the day
To me it doesn't matter how many times I say it
For each and every time it's expressed
I mean it just the same

To me LOVE is holding hands while we power walk
For our LOVE has that specific spark

To me LOVE knows no boundaries
For I know our realities
Prevents us from becoming uninhibited
And yes, LOVE to me is not something to be played with

To me LOVE is not walking down that aisle
It is when there's an unstoppable smile
Permanently fixed
On my sweet cheeks

To me LOVE isn't what he says
But what he does
What's being said comes and goes
Though actions showcase his blatant ways

LOVE, I think I know you
Your 3 initials mean: Exceptionally Real & Marvelous
Your face is the first and last that I see
You don't dare doubt me
You bring laughter even in my sleep
You take no pride when you cause me to weep

Your lips are the only ones I know
LOVE, it's been almost 3 years now
As we continue to grow
I gather you find no humor in my sorrow

You are what they call a "miracle"
Because what you provide is quite magical
In essence, LOVE you are my universe
I hope you appreciate this verse

Our LOVE is infinite
Life seems unimaginable, without you in it

Babies Galore

I took some pics of Jaiden & Kai this past weekend. I chose to take close-ups so you can clearly see the contours of their faces.

They're going to grow up to be a couple of handsome young men.

Lazy Weekend....

Thanks to the 4-day weekend, I am so relaxed!

I am super excited about today especially with the Bush Administration on their way out. Everyone, out of towners and locals alike, has been partying at all of the Inauguration Balls. So many celebrities are here to partake in the celebration as well.

For some reason, I feel like I should've been at a party or a ball but I decided to stay in the comfort of my home. There's something about huge crowds and the cold weather that turns me off to any event going on, even with the undoubtedly historic Inauguration of Barack Obama.

I stayed in last night with My Love and Buliit (inset: jack russell terrier). We watched 24 and had two bowls of ice cream. Ah, what a night! LOL

I hope everyone else had a great time at parties, etc.! Share your stories and pics with me!

Dual Pride - Mr. Obama

I have yet to be so proud of this country
Like I am today

Though a common struggle daily
Is am I American or Filipina?

Today I am so honored
To celebrate the American side of me

However every single day
I am a beautiful Filipina in every single way

Colorful background is something we have in common
Mr. Obama, you are quite the inspiration
Your presence is so bold
How unrivaled is your determination?

We await the reform of this country
Under your leadership

Please ensure our decision to give you authority
Is not something we will have to doubt

Good luck to you sir!

BBRRR.....

It is currently 23 degrees FREEZING out!!!

OMG, Look at these pics taken sometime in December during a house hunting weekend. We aren't there yet, but definitely getting closer. Ching, Evan, and I were being silly in the car(lol).

I LOVE MY SCARF AND BOOTS IN THESE PICS! Colorful yet functional. In the last picture, there's one strand of hair strategically placed on my nose. I think it's so hilarious!

SIDEBAR: Women with protruding foreheads aren't rare. Though there are other parts of my body that protrude, that's immaterial. Like me, there's Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and more. I say this because it's something I'm very proud of but sometimes it finds its way to make me insecure. There's no sense in altering it - I would never get any work done on my body EVER!

You've got to work with what you've got and live with what you don't have. There's no one in this world who is "perfect". I think what makes me beautiful is my intelligence. My willingness to be kind to the most unkind. My luscious waves.

The physical aspect goes away. You get old, then your wrinkles form, and you might have some rolls in areas that become unsightly. So what?! Get over it! And just live your life....

Mmmmm Good!

Last weekend was rather delicious. Where should I begin?

Fridays are usually a dinner and movies kinda night, but after dining at Red Rock Canyon Grill @ The Rio, Evan & I decided it'd be wise to save that $22 movie money and just go home. Steak salad, tilapia, crabcake, calamari, cornbread, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots with white wine & Blue Moon. Yep, we got the itis (ha-ha).

Saturday, I made an attempt to fulfill my resolutions and was almost successful until we got late lunch/dinner at Urban BBQ. I jogged/walked for about 6 miles and then had the biggest appetite. We had some steak salads, crabcake, cornbread, and hickory beans. The rest of the night became unpleasant, if you catch my drift.

Sunday, we did some home shopping and spent some time with my nephew. Lunch consisted of rice & salmon and ice cream cake for desert. It doesn't end there. Then, we went to Lakeforest Mall and found Rita's! I LOVE THAT PLACE!!! Had some Gelatis and felt like the jog the day before was just useless. Headed back to my bro's place and had shrimp linguini for dinner.

For the record, I am not complaining at all. However, it's relatively difficult to stay in shape with such an accessible plethora of delicious and scrumptious food. I have tried the portions thing, but why starve yourself? Perhaps I need to stick to rabbit food for awhile....NAH, NOT EVEN WORTH IT!

NYE 2008

New Year's Eve was an uneventful night, to say the least. I figured that I'd be out somewhere partying or drinking 'til the wee hours in the morning. I had no regrets whatsoever. NYE 2008 & NYD 2009 occurred as planned. I slept a lot and ate so much good food!

The above pics were taken at the Mercers home - includes Jaylen, Lawrence, Ebony, Evan and me.
